Goal

Eliminate septic fumes being pushed out of the rooftop breather stacks by strong ocean winds, making the home and outdoor areas unpleasant and difficult to occupy.

Two carbon-based filters topped with 360 Air Vac units (installed on both vent stacks).

Result

This oceanfront home experienced significant septic odors caused by coastal winds forcing fumes out of the breather stacks on the roof. The issue made both the indoor and outdoor living spaces unpleasant for the homeowners.

Under the recommendation of Telder Engineering, two carbon-based filters with 360 Air Vac units were installed on the vent stacks. The solution eliminated the odor problem immediately. As of four years after installation, the home remains odor-free in all wind conditions, providing a long-term, maintenance-free fix.
